7K a year The Housekeeper works under the supervision of the Housekeeping Supervisor.
They performs routine cleaning of patient rooms, nursing units, offices, clinical areas, waiting areas, lobbies, lounges, restrooms, and corridors in a clean, neat, and sanitary manner.
They are responsible for safely storing housekeeping equipment and/or materials like brushes, brooms, disinfectants, rags, and hand gloves.
The housekeeper is also responsible for ensuring that standard precautions of safety in a health facility are complied with.
Job Duties:
Utilizes the appropriate chemicals and supplies according to procedures.
Uses and maintains equipment properly.
Assists visitors with directions whenever requested.
Always introduces self to patients, families, and visitors.
Reports safety hazards as appropriate.
Appropriately dispose of medical waste products like syringes, hand gloves, face mask, sachets of tablets, etc.
Replenishes housekeeping supplies.
Follows all infection control practices including hand washing techniques, Standard Precautions, and isolation precautions.
Maintains set quality standards when performing job duties.
Always observe safety precautions.
Cleans and maintains carpet and tiled floors by using heavy equipment to clean, strip and wax floors on a rotating basis.
Cooperate with other personnel to achieve departmental objectives, maintain good employee relations, and interdepartmental objectives.

Ability to work as part of a team Must possess Good organizational skills as well as strong hygienic practice Must be able to multi-task Must be able to report to work on time Proven ability and/or inclination to follow instructions Interpersonal skills to interact with a variety of other people and patients Calm demeanor to work in a fast-paced environment Physical Requirements:
This position requires the ability to stand, walk, use hands and fingers to handle and feel, and reach with hands and arms.
The employee is often required to bend, kneel, crouch, climb stairs, and reach overhead.
The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
